Terms & Conditions
The terms that apply when you book and rent a vehicle from Auto Rent Alicante. Please read them before confirming a booking.
Last updated: June 2026
1. Booking
Submitting the booking form on our website is a request, not a confirmed reservation. We will contact you by email, phone or WhatsApp to confirm availability and finalise your booking. No payment is taken online — you pay on collection of the vehicle.
2. Prices and what’s included
Prices are shown per day in euros. The estimate shown on our booking form is indicative; the final price is confirmed by us before your rental begins. Unless stated otherwise, our rates include:
- Fully comprehensive insurance (see section 5).
- Unlimited mileage.
- Airport meet-and-greet at Alicante Airport (ALC), or delivery to the agreed location.
- Local taxes (IVA).
A delivery fee applies to some locations (for example Altea and Calpe); this is shown on the booking form and confirmed before your rental.
3. Driver requirements
- The main driver must be at least 25 years old.
- You must have held a full, valid driving licence for at least two years.
- Licences from outside the EU may require an International Driving Permit.
- At collection you must present a valid physical driving licence, a passport or ID card, and a credit or debit card in the main driver’s name for the deposit. Digital copies of the licence are not accepted in Spain.
4. Security deposit
A refundable security deposit is held on your payment card at the start of the rental and released after the vehicle is returned in the same condition, with the agreed fuel level and no outstanding fines. The deposit amount depends on the vehicle and is confirmed before your rental.
5. Insurance
All rentals include fully comprehensive insurance. You remain responsible for the agreed excess in the event of damage or theft, and for any damage caused through negligence, misuse, driving under the influence, or breach of these terms. Damage to tyres, windscreen, the underbody and the interior may not be covered by the standard policy — please ask us if you are unsure.
6. Fuel
Vehicles are supplied with an agreed fuel level and should be returned at the same level. If returned with less, the difference plus a refuelling charge may be deducted from your deposit.
7. Use of the vehicle
The vehicle must not be:
- Driven by anyone not named on the rental agreement.
- Taken outside mainland Spain — our vehicles and insurance are valid in mainland Spain only.
- Used for any illegal purpose, motorsport, towing, or to carry more passengers than seatbelts.
- Smoked in. A cleaning charge applies for returning a vehicle excessively dirty or smelling of smoke.
8. Fines and tolls
You are responsible for any traffic fines, parking penalties or tolls incurred during your rental. Where the authorities require us to identify the driver, we are legally obliged to provide your details.
9. Cancellation
Because no payment is taken online, you can cancel a booking free of charge up to 24 hours before your pick-up time by contacting us. For changes or cancellations inside 24 hours, please get in touch as early as possible and we will do our best to help.
10. Breakdowns and accidents
In the event of a breakdown or accident, contact us immediately on +34 611 89 71 73. In an accident you must complete the European Accident Statement and, where anyone is injured or there is a dispute, call the police.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Spanish law. Subject to that, our liability is limited to the value of your rental. We are not liable for indirect losses such as missed flights or onward travel costs.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by Spanish law, and any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the courts of Alicante.
