Privacy Policy
How Auto Rent Alicante collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use our website and rental services.
Last updated: June 2026
1. Who we are
Auto Rent Alicante (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides car rental services in Alicante and across the Costa Blanca. We are the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at hello@autorentalicante.com or on +34 611 89 71 73.
2. What data we collect
We only collect what we need to handle your booking and provide the rental:
- Booking details — your name, email address, phone/WhatsApp number, chosen vehicle, pick-up and return dates, and pick-up or delivery location.
- Rental details — when you collect a vehicle, we verify your driving licence, passport or ID, and take a security deposit via a payment card.
- Messages — any notes or correspondence you send us by form, email or WhatsApp.
- Technical data — basic, anonymous information about how visitors use the website (see Cookies below).
3. How we use your data
- To respond to your enquiry and confirm your booking.
- To prepare and hand over your rental vehicle, including meeting you at the airport.
- To meet our legal obligations under Spanish rental, tax and traffic law (for example, identifying the driver in the event of a fine or accident).
- To contact you about your active or upcoming rental.
We rely on your consent (when you submit the booking form), the performance of a contract (your rental), and our legal obligations as the lawful bases for processing.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only where necessary: with our booking-form provider (FormSubmit) to deliver your enquiry to us, with insurers in the event of a claim, and with the Spanish authorities where the law requires it. Any processors we use are bound to keep your data secure and use it only on our instructions.
5. How long we keep it
We keep booking enquiries for as long as needed to deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards. Rental contracts and related records are kept for as long as Spanish tax and civil law requires (generally up to several years). After that, your data is securely deleted.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR and Spanish data-protection law (LOPDGDD) you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Have inaccurate data corrected.
- Ask us to delete your data where there is no legal reason to keep it.
- Object to or restrict how we use your data.
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
To exercise any of these, email hello@autorentalicante.com. You also have the right to complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, www.aepd.es).
7. Cookies
Our website uses only the minimal cookies and local storage needed to remember your language preference and to keep the site working. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Your browser settings let you clear or block cookies at any time.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, with the date it was last updated shown above.
